Hello, I’m Viswaroop.
I build platforms. I care about the boundaries between things. And I write to understand what I’ve learned.
I’m a Staff Software Engineer focused on platform and identity systems. I’ve spent years running multi-tenant Kubernetes platforms across AWS and GCP, replacing managed identity services with open-source IAM, and making GitOps work as teams grow.
The parts I find interesting are rarely contained in a single tool. They show up between teams, between authentication and authorization, and between an architecture diagram and the system people actually operate.
What I’m working through
Lately, I’ve been exploring what those boundaries mean for autonomous agents: scoped identity, isolated execution, and workflows that act on behalf of people. I’m keeping that exploration separate from the systems I’ve already built. Both belong in the notebook.
Beyond the terminal
Reading is another way I work through ideas. In my 2025 notes, I tracked what I applied rather than how many passages I highlighted—from taking ownership during incidents to creating calmer environments at home.
I’m interested in the ideas that cross over: how a book on leadership changes an incident review, or how a lesson about focus changes the way I build.
These are the books, and the ideas, that stayed with me.
Why this space exists
Building something is only half the work. Explaining the decisions, the failure modes, and what I’d reconsider makes the learning useful to someone else. That’s what I want this site to hold.
